The Move Out Donation Drive at the University of Mississippi is a community-driven initiative aimed at collecting essential items from students during the move-out season to benefit the local community. Through this drive, students are encouraged to donate gently used clothing, furniture, electronics, and other dormitory items they no longer need. These donations are then distributed to those in the local community, helping to support individuals and families while reducing waste. The Move Out Donation Drive promotes sustainability and community engagement among students.

Goal: Enhance community support and environmental sustainability by collecting and redistributing gently used items from students during the move-out season, thereby reducing waste and aiding the local community.

Objectives:

  • Increase Participation – Achieve an increase in volunteer participation and/or university partnerships each year until saturation is reached.
  • Maximize Donation Efficiency – collect and distribute the maximum amount of donations without compromising the labor capacity of participating employees or volunteers.
  • Strengthen Community Partnerships – Maintain and establish new community partnerships each year by providing a consistent and reliable resource.
