In the middle grades, students learn to generalize their prior experiences with computation and develop more abstract mathematical thinking. Expressions, equations, and functions are tools that are used to describe real-world situations mathematically. Introducing these ideas in concrete ways will provide meaningful learning experiences that can connect to their existing knowledge.

 

Time: June 15-18, 2026  – 9:00am-4:00pm

Audience: Mississippi Licensed Educators (Grades 5-8)

Credits Available:  2.4 CEUs

Cost: $450 per institute
