About this Event
106 University Ave, University, MS 38677
This session provides guidance on identifying and developing skills during graduate and postdoctoral training to enhance competitiveness for positions in industry. Lauren will focus on the skills needed for various career paths, including research roles and non-research positions such as consulting, business development, writing, outreach, clinical research, and medical affairs. The talk will offer advice on how to develop many of these skills while conducting research, as well as examples of how to build skills outside of the lab, if necessary. Additionally, this session will discuss the soft skills that are essential for all industry roles—such as teamwork, collaboration, leadership, and communication—and how to effectively highlight these experiences to potential employers.
