About this Event
20 Library Lane, University, MS 38677
Arguably one of the lowest-effort, highest-reward changes instructors can make to their pedagogy is to make their teaching choices and course assignments more transparent. In this interactive working session, we’ll explore the TILT (Transparency in Learning and Teaching) framework and the benefits of transparency for student learning. We’ll spend the bulk of the session learning about and applying the principles of transparent assignment design, including how to clarify the purpose, task, and criteria of assignments for students. Come prepared with an assignment you would like to TILT and leave with a new-and-improved assignment description that can help students better understand, and successfully complete, the work of your course.
Light refreshments will be provided.
Note: This event is open to all University of Mississippi-affiliated faculty/staff and graduate students.
