It fills critical gaps by improving understanding of poly-victimization, screening for both SUD and DV, and intervention strategies. Sessions tackle implicit bias, stigma, and provider burnout while enhancing knowledge of policy, lethality assessments, and fatality reviews. By fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and trauma-informed care, this conference empowers providers to improve patient outcomes and support survivors effectively. These gaps were identified by peer-reviewed journal article reviews, results of a needs assessment sent to shelter workers in December 2024, and requests from the planning committee and domestic violence coalition members.
