Discovery Day is a fun and flexible art program designed for homeschool students and their guardians! From 10:30am to 12pm, students can enjoy drop-in art making, where they can explore their creativity and work on individual projects. At 10:45am, an optional guided tour is available to dive deeper into the museum's exhibits, offering inspiration for their artwork. This program provides a great opportunity for homeschool families to engage with art, history, and hands-on creativity in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Discovery Day will be held once a month. For this month, the program will occur on Thursday, February 27th from 10:30am-12:00pm (Drop-in). The optional guided tour will begin at 10:45am.

Specific details for Discovery Day are listed below for your convenience:

  • Students of all ages and their families are welcomed to attend.
  • This program is FREE, as all materials and supplies will be provided.
  • Participants must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
  • Participants must be dressed in clothes that you do not mind getting dirty.
  • Students must adhere to the rules and discipline policy set by the UM Museum.

While this program is primarily designed for homeschool students, we warmly welcome children of all backgrounds to participate. Our primary objective is to create a space where at-home learners can engage in artistic activities inspired by the exhibits at the UM Museum, fostering creativity and a deeper connection to art and culture.
