Career Pathways Exploration Series: Research Administration will give graduate students an inside look at how skills developed in graduate school can open doors beyond the lab. Drawing on his own journey, Dr. Lewellyn will share how he moved from earning a BS in Forensic Chemistry and a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences (with an emphasis in Pharmacognosy), to working as a research scientist, and then transitioning into research administration—first at the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy and, since 2023, at the University of Chicago. Along the way, he’ll highlight the transferable skills he gained in graduate school that continue to shape his work today and offer practical advice for students interested in exploring careers in research administration and other alternate paths.
